On bla di, oh bla da

Life goes on bra,
la la how the life goes on.

So I got fired today at 7:45 am.

Do you know I've NEVER been fired before in my life? I've been laid off, but never fired.

I guess there isn't too much of a difference - they both have the same end result - NO JOB.

The big difference is how you feel when you get "fired". You kind of feel like crap. Angry is another one but after all I've been through with this company my final feeling is good riddance.

It is amazing how my perception of this job when it was offered to me and the actual job was so dramatically different. It is also amazing how my perception of the company changed as well. Don't get me wrong - I wish them much success and I think they will make it through these tough times. I also hope my now ex-boss gets a good dose of what's coming to her some day.

So - I'll apply for unemployment and I'll hit up all of my networks and see what I can find out there. In the meantime I have lots and lots of little house projects I can do to keep me busy!

Cheers all!

Oh, sorry to hear that Shaz, but (I've got to go all religious on you here) "the Lord works" and all that!
You weren't really settled in that job though, were you. Maybe it's actually for the best. Yes, it feels like crap to be told you're fired, but it does open up new opportunities. I have faith that you'll find something even better in the near future. Take some time to regenerate and prepare for a good change.

Oh, that sucks. I went through a firing/layoff/whatever the hell in late 2007 - my first time ever for something like that - and it was horrible. I'm so much better off now, but at the time it felt like shit. I was also dealing with someone difficult at the time, and I have the hope that karma catches up with him. In the meantime, just remember that better things await. Sending all my good vibes to you!

Kat - Thanks and you are right I was not settled in this new job so it's not a heartache to lose it.

LG - Hey - good to see you! I'll take those vibes!

I think the writing was on the wall for a while. Too bad it didn't work out.

I don't think it was "meant to be".

With Kat I'll say "things happen for a reason".

Hang in there sis.

So sorry to hear about this little set back, but you know what, they don't deserve you and the way they treated you - not right at all. I hope you find something wonderful out there that really makes you feel good about going to work every day. And you're awfully nice considering how they treated you. You go girl and keep dreaming about that farm house, cuz you never know what life has in store for you!!

Thank you everyone - I appreciate your thoughts.

It happened for a reason and I truely believe that.

Good luck on the job-hunting front, Shazza, though I'd love to see you start up the farm!

From what you've told us about that job you are much better off out of it.
Here's to a happy landing!
