Touch the Sound

I came across this video one day while browsing through the shelves at Blockbuster.

It's the story of Evelyn Glennie who is a Scottish Percussionist - who also happens to be profoundly deaf!

It's an amazing journey of sound and discovery and it's is one of my very favorite DVD's to watch. If you have a home theatre system, it would be well worth it to crank up the sound on this one so that you can "feel" the music along with her.

And here is a piece called Clapping Music which is just kind of fun to listen to:

oh my gosh, thank you for posting that evelyn glennie video. that dvd will be the perfect present for my mum's birthday. She's a percussionist herself so she'll love it :)

Bummer - sorry to hear that. She does have CD's of her concerts, perhaps she would enjoy that instead?
