Well...we've run into a few snags with the kitchen project.
- They couldn't completely turn the gas off when they disconnected the stove.
- They couldn't completely turn the water off when they ripped out the toilet in the half bath.
Mike the Contractor - who by the way looks exactly like I would imagine Joe Morelli (if you read any of the Stephani Plum books) would look like, has been to Lowes about 5 times so far! He's a bit gruff, but he's dealing.
Frank - the older guy is getting his frustrations out on the soffits(soffets?) that need to be removed and is having fun with a sawzall at the moment.
The gas was finally turned off after I thought I was going to have to call the fire department and evacuate the neighborhood. YAY!
They turned off the water so my basement won't be completely flooded and don't cha know...I gotta pee.
Mike is calling in re-inforcements aka "The Plumber".

This is the "it's gotta get worse before it gets better" part....
Hang in there!
sounds like a whole lotta fun!
Hang in there. Glad the gas got turned off.
Oh...I am sooooo dreading the kitchen remodel. Buuuuut. It. Must. Be. Done. Ack.
hang in.
So fun!
The last home improvement project my husband and I tackled without professionals led to him getting shocked, angrily punching a hole in the wall and me (12 weeks pregnant at the time) running to Walmart at midnight to get electrical tape. (The pregnant part is what led me to puke in the Walmart bathroom.)
Good times.
