Of mice and men

I haven't posted in a few days...not because I haven't had anything to write about, it's more about not having the time.

Work is gearing up towards our busy season, so I've been chatting up my clients who are THE best clients in the world if I do say so myself. I work with Librarians - love, love, love them! They have got to be the most honest people to deal with. Smart and diverse as the day is long.

Let me preface this next segment by stating that I am a pacifist and I love ALL creatures great and small - but I guess we all have our limits.

Anyway - enough of that - another reason is my home computer, which is down in my basement has been hard for me to sit at. We were having a little mouse problem recently. We tried the snap traps...caught three, but I could still hear them running around the sill plate of the house, so we called an exterminator. They laid out a few baited traps and what happens is that they are supposed to eat the bait, which is poison and then it makes them really thirsty so they go outside to look for water. Not my mice...they decided to die somewhere in the basement where I can't find them and now they are getting their revenge. The smell is atrocious.

Not only am I filled with guilt for murdering these poor little mice in the first place now my senses have been assalted with the lingering smell of their tiny little deaths.

No win situation it is.

You may not see too many postings until the smell has cleared out. I can't stand to be down there for too long before it just gets to me.

LOL Finn - makes you go through a range of emotions doesn't it?

No...the stink hasn't cleared yet, but it's getting better thankfully.

I have 2 westies, and they are pretty good mousers, but these evil little vermin got into places the dogs couldn't go, and well M is petrified of snakes, so I don't think that's a real good idea!
