This Meme I stole from 8th Day Planner - it's one I haven't seen before so I thought I would play along.
Meme - The First Time
1. When was your first kiss?
In the back of the school bus coming home from kindergarten with Danny Orth. My Mom had to come and break us up. We were hiding!
2. When did you first start buying holiday or birthday gifts for other people and stop thinking about what people would buy for you?
Oh...this is horrible, I still think about what people will buy for me and then I have this tremendous guilt because I worry that I didn't get a gift for them that will equal the gift that they will give me...even though I don't know what it is.
Catholic guilt will really screw you up for life!
3. When was the first time you thought of yourself not as a kid/teen, but as an adult? When I could legally buy alcohol. I felt like such a big shot!
4. What do you remember about the first time you drove a car?
My Dad let me drive down our street. I was really surprised how sensitive everything was! Steering is not like you see on TV or the movies where the steering wheel goes crazy back and forth. The brake was a lot of fun...nearly put my Dad through the windshield!
5. Tell me about your first pet.
I think our first official pet was Firequacker the duck. I don't remember too much about him really. Only that he pooped a lot.
6. What was your first job?
Paying job - cashier at McDonalds. I went vegetarian for a year while working there. It was pretty disgusting.
Non-paying job - working at the local community theatre doing odds and ends. To this day it was the best job ever. I even got paid a few times!
7. Who was the first teacher to make a positive impact on your life?
Mr. Shields - 12th grade U.S. History teacher. He was the first teacher who I ever saw cry. He actually took the photos of my wedding.
8. If you’ve lived in more than one house or apartment as an adult, tell me about your first one.
I will use the 1st place I ever lived in by myself. I was 34, divorced, just recently came out and moved out of my 1st G/f's place. It was a little tiny 1 bedroom place above a store that I thought was my very first peace of heaven.
9. What was it like the first time you got drunk (assuming you remember).
I was at my first party in high school. I had 2 beers and I remember how heavy my feet felt all of a sudden and how everything was so hysterical. I also remember making out with some boy behind a bush and getting "felt up" for the first time. I wasn't too thrilled with it.
10. Did you marry your first love?
No

Blog blahs and a meme thingy
A very big thank you to Poetikat for coming to my rescue and tagging me with a meme!
I have total blog blahs this week and have not had any inspiration to post this week.
Yay! a meme!
Ok...here are the rules:
The rules:
1. Post the link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others that you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post.
1. Kat and her Invisible Keepsakes!
2. Oh...this was hard because I've posted so many reeeeeally bad songs that I like that I had a hard time trying to come up with some new ones.
Deep breath...here it goes:
Laughter in the Rain by Neil Sedaka - When this song came out I thought it was a woman singing it, so at the part in they lyrics when it said: "She turns to me and she kisses me." I thought I was hearing some kind of revelation.
Then when I saw this guy on TV, I thought for sure he was gay himself.
I still think he is!
Whatever the case...I still secretly like this song!
Copacabana - I betcha know all the words...yup...I bet you do. You have to admit it...it's just one of those songs you can't help singing along to when it comes on! Make fun of it all you want, but when it's karaoke night at the bar...you secretly want to sing this. Come on...admit it!
The Chaquita Banana song - Ok...it's more of a commercial than a song...but my Mom used to sing this song and I SWORE she made up the lyrics when it says: "But, bananas like the climate of the very, very tropical equator So you should never put bananas in the refrigerator". It really does say that!!! Now every time I see Chaquita bananas...I sing this song!
Morning Train by Sheena Easton - This one I'm cheating on a bit because I just saw Presbyfruit (check out her sword!) mention it on her blog and immediately I started singing it.
I was a "Sheena girl" in high school.
Kind of like the "Madonna girl" not quite as cool!
I had the hair the makeup...I was a dork
:::sigh::: she was HOT!
Oh...and that Scottish accent....grrrrrrr!
(I actually had one of her songs as my wedding song...yeah...that's right baby! I was a COMPLETE dork. Not gonna tell you which one...you'll have to guess!)
Dark Lady by Cher - This brings out the inner drag queen in me. There always has to be a Cher song in a drag show.
ta da....
As for rule #3 - I'm not going to "tag" anyone...but there are a few who I would just LOVE to see respond to this one.
Namely:
Dive at Small Glass Planet...for all things fun and embarassing and musically related.
Sharkbutt at East Coast Randori - for all things twisted and askew
Neetzy at Negative Space - 'cause I got teased enough about my taste in music as a kid...I need ammunition!
Vic - at Tumblewood - I like his blog and I think he has some secret musical anomalies that he really wants to share with the group!
Deb at Middle Girl - she just had a birthday...go over and help her blow out all her candles!!!
And....anyone else feeling the blog blahs and can't think of a darn thing to post at the moment.

Meme thingy
OK...I saw this meme on the McCutcheon's Blog, Maria's Blog and Dive's Blog...
I didn't want to be left out so I did it too!
How to: put your itunes/ipod on shuffle and press next for each question. write down the song that's playing as an answer.
I'm not going to add any additional comments and will just let the answers speak for themselves as weird and as random as they might be; or as dead on as they may be. Only I will know!
If anything, it's a good way to see what kind of music is on other peoples iPods.
I think I'll make this a playlist just for the whole eclectic nature of it all.

2) What do you like in a guy/girl? Redemption Day, Sheryl Crow

7) What do you think of your best friend? Keeper of my Heart, Indigo Girls
8) What do you think of the person you like? Angel, Eurythmics
9) What do you want to be when you grow up? I Can’t Be Without You, The Cranberries
10) What do you think when you see the person you like? Proudest Monkey, Dave Matthews Band

Meme Thingy
I stole this one from Maria over at Just Eat Your Cup Cake.
You are supposed to look up from your computer, look around the room where you are sitting and pick up the closest book. Open the book, turn to page 123, count down to the 5th sentence on that page and then post the next three sentences.
Since I'm at work and only have 2 books on my shelves here, it wasn't much of a choice, but still...I thought it would be fun!
"Unafraid to take risks and willing to take a shot at anything, anytime. Women, being turned in to the more cautious (and more creative) right brain, are more reluctant to do something unless they're sure they're going to get it right.
"Here's how the neuropsychiatrist put it: Think of a man as carrying a quiverful of arrows.""
Kind of leaves you hanging doesn't it? heh, heh, heh.

My partial Year in Blogging
I copied this from LG on her blog - Lolatini.
The point is to take the first line from the first entry of every month. Unfortunately, I haven't been blogging for a full year, so I just took the first line of every month that I blogged in 2007 only:
April : Stupid quote of the day
August : I've been doing the Weight Watchers thing for a few weeks now. I've managed to lose nearly 6 pounds so far...not too shabby.
September : sarah bettens come over here
October: Today I am in freakin' password hell.
November: I had a hankerin' for a really good turkey sandwich yesterday, so I decided to abandon my usual salad and take a walk to the Reading Terminal to get a sandwich from "The Original Turkey".
December: DUBLIN, Ireland - A thief made off with 180 kegs of Guinness beer after smoothly driving into the Dublin brewery, which makes the black stout and snatching a trailer load of drink, police said Thursday.
Hmmmmmm, it definitely fits into the title of this blog - Random Thoughts and Acts of Stupidity so I think I'm doin' what I set out to do in the first place. The added bonus has been I've met some very cool blogging pals and am having a lot of fun.
